RENE A. CHEVALIER, 72, of Linden Ave., a cabinetmaker and owner and operator of the former R.A.C. Cabinets, until retiring in 1988, died Sunday at home. His former wife was the late Sibila (Spinola) Chevalier-St. Germain.

A lifelong Woonsocket resident, he was a son of the late Horace J. and Cora (Marcoux) Chevalier.

Mr. Chevalier was employed by the city of Woonsocket for 13 years, retiring in 1983. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, serving from 1943 to 1966.

He was a member of the Italian Workman's Club, Circle Laurier, and St. Joseph Veterans Club.

He leaves two sons, Roger R. Chevalier of Woonsocket and John M. Chevalier of Leominster, Mass.; a daughter, Linda B. Baker of Mendon, Mass., and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Louis Church, Rathbun Street, at 10. Cremation will follow.
