Maxine Cook Roberts, 81, of Mount Gilead passed away Monday afternoon, October 26, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead. Mr. Pete Cook will officiate and interment will follow in McRae Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberts was born April 27, 1934 in Anson County to the late Claude Lee and Elease Bolton Cook. She was last employed by Russell Harvell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dossie ”J.D.” Roberts, son, Junior Roberts; sisters, Joyce Alexander and Betty Bridges.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Simmons and husband, Danny of Troy, Kay Huneycutt and husband, Richard of Albemarle and Gwen Parker and husband, Randy of Grayson, KY; one brother, Pete Cooke and wife, Joyce of Wadesboro; sisters, Bobbie Stephens and husband, Willie and Brenda Johnson all of Wadesboro; Christine Thompson and husband, Jerry of Mount Gilead and Doris Marsh of GA. Eight Grandchildren, Ten Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Great Grandson.
