Luella M. Blue, 96, of Normal, died at 9:47 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 24, 2015) at her home.

She was born April 12, 1919 in Chicago, the daughter of William and Nora Luckey Kohs. She married Dr. Daniel Blue on May 25, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Patty (Jack) Pitts and Mary Ann Blue; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia (Jack) Justus and many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from high school, where she met her future husband, she worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. In 1944, she moved to Tacoma, Washington where her husband was stationed while serving in World War II. While there, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service. After the war, she and her husband returned to Chicago, where she worked as a secretary at Avon.

In 1953, she moved to Minonk to assist her husband in his chiropractic office for the next 50 years. Her dedication to her husband's practice and their clients had a lasting impact on the community. After her husband's retirement, they moved to Heyworth to be closer to their children. When he passed away Oct. 30, 2005 she moved to Normal to live with her daughter.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minonk, and over the years enjoyed being very involved and active, holding office and organizing events. Upon leaving Minonk, she attended St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, where her daughter and family are members.
