Bernice - T-Sgt. Paul F. Grafton, 26 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter F. Grafton, was killed instantly about 1:45 Monday in a bicycle-truck crash at Barksdale Field where he had served with the U.W. Army since January.
Paul was riding a bicycle on a concrete strip at the field when he was side-swiped by a heavy gasoline truck which three him beneath the vehicle.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. M.V. Burns and Chap. James Carroll of Monroe at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pine Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral home. - Journal
