Christian "Chris" P. Huard, age 42, of Cloquet, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010. He was born March 30, 1968 in Duluth to Lonnie and Mary (Karulak) Huard, and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1986. Chris worked as an over the road semi driver for more than 20 years and was currently employed as terminal manager for the Mid West Motor Express in Superior, WI. He spent a lot of his childhood and teen years ski jumping and was named to the developmental U.S. Ski Team. Chris was also an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting and fishing at the family hunting land.
Chris was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffery Huard; paternal grandparents; John and Dorothy Huard; and maternal grandmother, Christine Karulak. He is survived by his wife, Julie; one son, Brock; one daughter Samantha Isaacson; his father Lonnie (Delores Janke) Huard of Cloquet; his mother, Mary Karulak of Plymouth, MN; one sister, Sarah Huard of Cloquet; maternal grandfather, Joe Karulak of Cloquet; sisters-in-law, Michelle (Wally) Shelton, Kim (Keith) Swanson, Trina (Larry) Gephart, and Jeannine (Jim) Petersen; his god-daughter, Kiera James; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.
