John J. “Jack” Amberg, age 92 years, of rural Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Heritage Manor in Elroy, Wisconsin.

He was born on November 21, 1922 to John C. and Ella (Bauer) Amberg at Hillsboro, Wisconsin. He attended Hillsdale Grade School and graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1940.

Jack was united in marriage to Vilma Stedman on September 18, 1945. He served in the U.S. Army near the end of World War II, 1945-46 in Japan during the occupation.

He farmed in the Town of Hillsboro for many years, along with his brother, Edwin also did custom work. In 1950 he began hauling milk. At first it was can milk and later hauling bulk milk and was a truck route owner.

Jack was also active in the community serving as Clerk in the Town of Hillsboro for 54 years, 1948-2003; and Hillsboro Farmers Coop Board Member for 47 years, 1947-1994, serving as President for 32 years; he was also an active member of the First Congregational Church in Hillsboro. He enjoyed watching stock car races and riding motorcycles with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Vilma; children, Matt (Deb) Amberg of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, Paul (Joelle) Amberg of Hubertus, WI and Liz (Patrick) Valencia of Hancock, Michigan; grandchildren and step grandchildren, Jake, Amy, Daniel, James, Kenzie, Lexie and Isabel; nieces and nephews and his dog, MoJo.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; sister, Mary Jean Van Loon and brother, Edwin Amberg.

A Memorial Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Isaac Fleming officiating. Relatives and Friends are invited to a time of visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m
