Cecile L. Smith Of Belle Rive Dies At Age 64

Mrs. Cecile Lockwood Smith, 64, of Belle Rive, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Franklin Hospital in Benton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the North Benton Baptist church, with the Rev. Hobert Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Benton.

The body will lie in state at the Drake-Hobbs Funeral Home in Benton, where friends may call after 2:00 Thursday.

Mrs. Smith was born in Franklin county June 21, 1899, the daughter of Douglas and Minerva Martin.

She was married to Evan Smith, who survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Kieler of Peoria; five step-daughters, Miss Clara Lockwood of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Louise Starr of Leicester, New York, Mrs. Mary Faber of Beltsville, Md., Mrs. Dorothy Wright of Elgin, Ill., and Mrs. Shirley Baker of Mt. Vernon; three step-sons, Evan Lockwood of Wood River, Ill., John Lockwood of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Clarence Lockwood of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one son, Howard Jones, who died during World War II.
