He was born October 18, 1934 in Lakeville, IN,
a son of George Albert & Treva Irene (Hygema) Hoffman, and has remained a
lifelong resident of this community.
On September 27, 1974 in South Bend,
Duwaine was united in marriage to Yvonne Outlaw who survives. Also surviving is
a daughter, Rhonda (Kurt) Pessont of New Jersey; four sons, Michael Hoffman of
South Bend, IN; Eric Hoffman of Colorado; Syron Hoffman of South Bend, IN; and
Justin (Kanesha) Hoffman of South Bend, IN; and two grandchildren, Jayla & Amry
Hoffman, as well as his two sisters, Evelyn Penrod of Walkerton, IN; and Phyllis
& Larry Schafer of Florida.
Mr. Hoffman worked as a self-employed machine
shop owner for many years. He loved spending time with his two
granddaughters.
Services will be at Noon, Friday, October 30, at St. Johns
United Church of Christ in Woodland, where the family will receive friends one
hour prior to the service. Rev. JoAn Schaetzle, and Rev. Joseph Gause will
officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Johns
Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr.
Douglas David, Theresa Johnson, dear close friend Juella Smith-Butts, and to
Nicole at Hospice for the wonderful care shown to Duwaine. Contributions in
