~Horace Roger "Roger" Neilson~
H. Roger Neilson, 82, of Asheville, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999 at his home.
Born in Winston-Salem, he was the son of the late Robert L. Neilson and Zona Palmer Neilson.
Mr. Neilson moved to Asheville in 1921. He was a U.S. Army veteran and employed by Sears Roebuck, retiring in 1979. He was also a member of SPEBSQSA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachael Putnam Neilson in 1982; a sister, Elizabeth; and brothers, Richard, William, Donald, Douglas and Cameron.
Survivors include two sons; a grandson; two granddaughters; a great grandson; a sister; and a brother.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999 at Grace Episcopal Church. Burial followed in Lewis Memorial Park.
