92, formerly Sister John Robert Banks, SCN, a native of South Boston, MA, died at Nazareth Home on Sunday, October 25, 2015. She had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 74 years.

Sister served in elementary education in Kentucky, Virginia and Massachusetts. After Sister acquired her doctorate at Boston College Sister served as Community Supervisor in Virginia and as Associate Superintendent in the Archdiocese of Boston. Sister served from 1980-86 as SCN Provincial in Massachusetts. From 1988-91 Sister served as Vice President for Mission at SS. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, Ky. In retirement Sister served in the Apostolate of Prayer.

Survivors include Rev. Michael Banks of New York City, several other nephews and her religious community.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, KY, followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Nazareth Home on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 and after 4:00 p.m. in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Ky. There will be a Prayer Service in St. Vincent Church at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Ratterman Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville.
