Sutton - Charlotte Macauley Powers, a long time resident of Sutton, Massachusetts, died peacefully on July 4, 2013 at the Beaumont Nursing Facility in Northbridge. She was born on October 6, 1945, in Terra Haute, Indiana. After school, she moved to Maryland, where she met her future husband, William Peter Powers, a petty officer in the United States Navy. Bill and Charlotte were married on November 21, 1970 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. They were devoted to each other for 43 wonderful years. Charlotte and Bill moved around as Bill's career in the computer industry took him to New York, Connecticut, California and Minnesota. They settled in Sutton in 1995 when Bill took a job with EMC2 in Hopkinton, where he continues to work.

Charlotte had many talents and interests. She loved travel, and was an avid reader who was never without a book by her side. Her relatives were often treated to wonderful hand knitted sweaters, scarves and blankets as Christmas or birthday gifts. No Thanksgiving was complete without two or three delicious home baked pies from her oven. She and Bill loved animals and cared lovingly for many cats and dogs over the years, often taking in strays and restoring their health. Charlotte was a devoted and generous aunt to 10 nieces and nephews, who loved her company and will miss her spirit very much
