WRIGHTSVILLE Donald E. Hilt, 59, of 417 Walnut St., Wrightsville, died Wednesday at his home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Dawn Marie (Weis) Hilt. The couple observed their 36th wedding anniversary in May.

The service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St., Columbia. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Columbia. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hilt was born in Wrightsville. He was the son of Elva (Hengst) Hilt of Wrightsville and the late Ralph Hilt.

He owned and operated Hilt's Varsity Barber Shop in Wrightsville for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve during the Korean War. He was a member of Associated Master Barbers and Beauticians York Chapter 379, where he served as secretary/treasurer for 24 years. He was head proctor for Central Pennsylvania Barbers Examiners.

Mr. Hilt also is survived by a daughter, Diane Henry of Mountville; two granddaughters; a brother, R. Wayne Hilt of Wrightsville; and a sister, Darlene Steelman of York.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robert L. Stauffer.
