Ella Molden Carter

Born: December 30, 1945
Died: October 18, 2015

God called Ella Molden Carter to her eternal rest on October 18, 2015. Ella was born in Tunnel Springs, Alabama on December 30, 1945 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie H. (Ella) Molden. She is preceded in death by: her parents; son, Anthony DeWayne Cannon; two sisters, Sarah Moore and Bessie Pearl Washington; and husband of 44 years at the time of his death, Charles E. Carter.

Ella was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ and served in various capacities at her long-time church home, Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church, before her health began to deteriorate. She and her husband moved to Georgia and fellowshipped with Woods Memorial Baptist Church and New Morning Light Baptist Church. Ella never met a stranger. Her years of service in the healthcare industry, prior to retiring from Mississippi State Board of Health in 2003, were a testament to her God-given talent and desire to be a servant to others. She was a pleasure to be around, despite the fact that she would speak her mind whether you liked it or not. Ella was a treasure, who could heal any ailment with a slice of her cake or pie.

Her memories will be forever cherished by her daughters, Sharon (Kevin) Steward, Geronda (Winston) Johnson, and Crystal M. Cannon; daughter-in-law, Dr. Mittie Cannon; one God-son, Timmie Nettles; God-daughters, April Bryant and LaKesha (Alan) Fountain Cotton; twelve grandchildren, Tonisha Defendini, Raphael Bradley, LaApril (Meidrian) Durden, Antwone Williams, Latasha Defendini, Veari Cannon, Ashley Mitchell, Shaquille Riley, Nysha Steward, Nyla Steward, Jania Johnson, and Lloye Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Phoenix Defendini, Amiriya Mitchell, and Myles D. Anthony Durden, as well as twelve God-grandchildren, Bakari, Shaniece, Cedric, Anthony, Jasmine and Matthew Nettles, Tiara Parker, Khalil Bryant, Kiana McCorvey, and Alijah, Aaiden, & Alanah Cotton; three brothers, Willie Frank (W. Ruth) Molden, George (Linda) Molden, and devoted brother, Charles L. (Hazel) Molden; one sister, Patricia Smith; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Tony) McBride, Annie (Ralph) Wilson, and devoted sister-in-law, Julia Molden; four brothers-in-law, Eddie Lee (Dorothy) Simpson, Thomas (Ruby) Fairley, Reuben Fields, and Hershel Smith; one aunt, Laura Ash; one uncle, Cylister Millender; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
