OBITUARY
John Bolling, eldest son of Randolph and Martha Jane Reyman Bolling, was born November 24, 1851, at Salem, Ind., and passed into the life beyond March 4, 1932, at Vesta, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 9 days. While quite young he became affiliated with the Christian church at Salem, later becoming a member.
He was united in marriage February 7, 1875, at Salem, Ind., to Alice Hartley, who survives him. To this union five children were born: Charles of Chicago, Ill., Frank of Fort Calhoun, Neb., Martha Jane Bolling Wilson of Salem, Ind., Nasby of Rocky Ford, Col., and Ethel Bolling Brown of Vesta.
He also leaves a granddaughter, Frances Alice Weed of Montesano, whom he raised as one of his own children, a grandson, Charles Bolling of Eatonville and a granddaughter, Marie Boling of Vesta, with ten other grandchildren in the east and eight great grandchildren; one sister, Martha Deihl of Salem, Ind., and one brother, Harvey Bolling, Tekhama, Neb.
Most of his life was spent in and around Salem. He left there January 24, 1920, and came to Washington, where he made his home until his death from paralysis. He leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife and family and a host of friends.

The stream of life flows on,
But still the vacant chair
Recalls the love, the voice, the smile
Of the one who once sat there.
The flowers we lay upon the grave
Soon wither and decay,
But the love that we bear for him
Will never fade away.

Funeral services were held from the Whiteside chapel here at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. C.E. Sharp officiating, and burial following in Wynooche cemetery.--The Vidette, March 10, 1932
