COHEN , Frank B., 80, of Tampa, passed away November 8, 2008. Born in Miami, Fla., he was lifelong resident of Tampa. He was a dearly loved and well respected husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. A graduate of Plant High School, he went on to Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., where he studied pre-medical. After graduation, he took over the family business Tampa Novelty Co., providing toys, novelties and house wares to retail stores throughout the southeastern United States. He was a past member of Congregation Rodeph-Shalom and a member of Who's Who. Frank loved life! He could easily be found eating breakfast daily at his favorite eatery, The Grecian Island Restaurant, on Davis Islands or with his dog, "Red," at the Davis Islands Dog Park. His love for animals was as strong as love for family. Mr. Cohen was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 31 years, Janis E. Cohen . He is survived by his daughters, Mona Hamilton and husband, Scott, with sons, Matthew and Evan, and Ilene White and husband, C.K., and son, Kevin; stepson, Randy Stewart Sr., his wife, June, with their son, Randy Jr., and daughter, Lisa; and his beloved dog, "Red," his faithful companion who could always be found at his side. Serving as pall bearers for the family will be Scott Hamilton, Matthew Hamilton, Evan Hamilton, C.K. White, Steve Gonzalez Sr., Steve Gonzalez Jr. and Lorenzo Gonzalez. A visitation will take place 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave. Tampa, FL 33610. Graveside services will take place immediately afterwards at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Tampa, with Rabbi Steven J. Weiler of Sharesh David Messiani Synagogue officiating. It is the family's wishes that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, 3607 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL 33607 or a charity of one's choice.
