Virginia Beach - Shirley Evelyn Dorris, age 88, born May 18th, 1927 in Marblehead, MA, died Sunday, October 18th of natural causes. While enjoying life on the cape, she decided to join the Navy Nursing Corp. in 1942, where she fell in love with Navy Airman Claude "Smiley" Dorris. Shirley made her way around the globe kissing the Blarney Stone & bringing back stories from Fiji, Australia, & more. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren climb her magnolia tree and taking them to The Nutcracker. Shirley is survived by sons Brian Dorris, Michael Dorris & Patrick Dorris; grandchildren, Kevin Teague, Erin Dorris, Rachel Dorris, Ryan Dorris and Danielle Dorris.
