SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Victoria L. P. Kelly Bauer, 85, died peacefully on Dec. 23, 2005 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Mrs. Bauer was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church in South Bend, Ind., a caring volunteer, a loving wife, and a mother of 13 children.
Mrs. Bauer was born in Port Arthur, Texas, and graduated from Jefferson High School. She attended St. Mary's College and graduated from the University of Chicago in 1942. That same year, she married Notre Dame graduate John M. Kelly who was serving in the U.S. Navy Air Corps. They lived and raised a family in Akron, Ohio, where Mr. Kelly was elected Common Pleas Judge in 1958. In 1968 Mrs. Kelly was widowed. In 1978 she moved to South Bend where most of her children attended college.
She married Burnette ''Burnie" Bauer in 1993, and had an active, happy life together until her illness took her from him.
