BINGHAM- Ernest (Spanos) Kokotas, 79, retired Bingham grocer, died at his residence SUnday at 5 p.m. of causes incident to age.

Born in 1870 in Spansika, Greece, he was a son of Athanasis and Rose Kokotas. He came to Utah when 34 years of age.

Mr. Kokotas worked as a watchman at the Garfield smelter of the American Smelting and Refining Co. for several years, later moving to Salt Lake City. He then moved to Bingham, where he became the proprietor of the Carr Fork Cash Grocery. He retired eight years ago.

He married Astasia Kalantzis in Greece Oct. 14, 1895. Mr. Kokotas was a member of the Greek Orthodox church.

Survivors included his widow; a son and two daughters, George Kokotas, Greece; Mrs. Effie Zhipian, Bingham, and Mrs. Bessie Anzriboulos, Greece; 17 grandchildren and One great-grandchild.
