Dr. Russell was born on August 28, 1921 to Charles and Olga Russell in Foster, Washington where he worked on his parents' farm until entering college. Dale was a Captain in the Army Air Corps, pilot of a C-47. He served his country in China Burma India where he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medals with Oak Leaves. He graduated medical school with a degree in chiropractics. Dale lived in Wichita Falls most of his life, but went on many adventures. He loved taking his motorhome on trips all over the country and the boat out on the water and fishing. Upon retiring from his 35 years of service to the United States Post Office, he and his wife learned to play the organ and ballroom dancing. At age 80, he learned to play the banjo; the music school did not charge him for his music lessons due to his age. He was also a repair man and excelled at woodworking. He preferred reading encyclopedia volumes over novels. Dale raised three children and taught his daughter how to drive a stick shift – a feat not to go unnoticed.
Dale is preceded in death by: son, Gary; and sisters Carol and Margaret.
Survivors include: daughter, Sharyn and husband Alan; son, Charles and wife Linda; grandchildren, Leah, Kelly, Lynna, Olivia, Bruce, Andre, Jared, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Austin, Riley.
