Samuel E. Wingrove Sr., 71, of the 3300 block of Sandra Lane, a retired civil supervisor, died April 14, 1992, in his home.
Mr. Wingrove was born in Bullskin Township, Pa. He had retired from the Craney Island Fuel Depot in 1979. Had had also retired as a Navy chief petty officer after 22 years and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and Laffey Association.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Stone Wingrove; four daughters, Carol A. Flynn of Boston, Gloria Jean Harrison of Houston, Polly P. Adkins of Eugene, Ore., and Pamela L. Leonard of Chesapeake; two sons, Samuel Wingrove Jr. of Virginia Beach and Duane E. Wingrove of Milford, Del.; a sister, Geraldine Dillon of Sheridan, Ore.; a brother, Wilkus R. Wingrove of Derry, Pa.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Eastminster Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Russell G. Flaxman. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road.
