NETTLES, JULIAN WINIFORD, 79

Lake Butler - Julian Winiford Nettles, 79, of Lake Butler, passed away suddenly on October 23, 2015. He was born in Lake Butler to the late Wilbur and Inez Thomas Nettles. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Lucinda Johnson and Melinda Nettles. He was a police deputy with the Largo Police Department for many years before returning to Lake Butler. He was also a Union County Deputy for four years. He also was a correctional officer with the department of corrections for 22 years before he retired from Reception Medical Center. He enjoyed sports, fishing, gardening, wrestling, and motorcycles. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the Lake Butler Ward.

He survived by his loving wife of 57 years Melba McLeod Nettles, one daughter: Karen Clemons (Fred) of Lake Butler, one son: Alan Nettles (Kay) of Lake Butler, two brothers: Wendel Nettles (Blanche) of Lake City and Bill Nettles (Diane) of Keystone Heights, six grandchildren: Missy, Tiffany, Julie, Kayla, Jillian, and Carrie and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the Lake Butler Ward. A visitation of the family and friends will be held at 10:00am. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Archer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 386-496-200
