The Pearl Street House, an inn and tavern built about 1789 by Eli Barnard, was originally known as the Green Mountain House. It was on the southwest corner of what is now North Prospect Street and Pearl Street in Burlington. The original inn burned in 1838, and rebuilt in 1840. The inn closed about 1854. The site is now the site where the Bisiop DeGosbriand Memorial Hospital (part of The University of Vermont Medical Center) is now located.
