Funeral services for Donovan R. (Blondie) Skyles, 65 years old, a retired Indianapolis fireman, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Conkle Speedway Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens.
Mr. Skyles died Sunday at Miami, Fla., where he had been spending the winter. He had resided at Monticello, Ind., since he retired in 1957 after 27 years with the Fire Department.
Mr. Skyles was a driver 10 years for Joseph Hancock while Hancock was first district chief and then was fire chief. Mr. Skyles retired with the rank of lieutenant.
He was a former member of the Sahara Grotto and Capital City Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Dorothy D. Skyles; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Bernhardt; a son David W. Skyles, both of Indianapolis, and nine grandchildren.
