He was born December 9, 1921 in Whittier, California, lived his entire life in California, the last 22 years in Apple Valley. Don was a graduate of Montebello High School, class of 1939; served in the United States Navy as a Machinist 1st Class; attended the Frank Wiggins Machinist Trade School.
He retired from Chaffey High School and then owned his own business, Banner Foods. Don loved to play horseshoes and was a member of Apple Valley Senior Horseshoe Club. He was also a life-time member of the Apple Valley Senior Citizen Club and a member of the High Desert Church of Victorville, California.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Purser of Apple Valley, CA; daughters, Ginger Silverman of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Peggy Larimore of Honolulu, Hawaii and Robin Horton of Salt Lake City, Utah; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
