Warren Hatton Carpenter, 77, husband of the late Evelyn Crockett Carpenter and a resident of Birdsnest, VA, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Birdsnest, he was the son of the late William Thomas Carpenter, Sr. and the late Mary Gladden Carpenter. He was retired from Dulany Foods and a member of Exmore Baptist Church.

He is survived by four children, Wanda C. Goff and her husband, Tony, of Searcy, AR, Sharon Carpenter and her life partner, Amy, of Melfa, VA, Tammy C. Taylor and her husband, Wayne, of Wachapreague, VA, Tommy Carpenter and his wife, Adriana, of Pungoteague, VA; a brother, Kenneth Carpenter of Exmore, VA; a sister, Mary C. "Kitty" Bagwell of New Bern, NC; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Shore Christian Academy, 11624 Occohannock Road, Exmore, VA 23350.
