CLYDE – Wanda “Jean” Estes Holcomb, 84, of Clyde died Friday, October 23, 2015 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Harper Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Estes Family Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the funeral home.

Wanda Jean was born March 29, 1931 in Hamby, Texas to John L. and Lillian Alice (Coffman) Estes.

She was a lifelong resident of Callahan County graduating from Clyde High School in 1948 and Hardin Simmons University School of Nursing. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Holcomb, October 17, 1961 in Big Spring. They moved back to Clyde from Pecos in 1962. She was a Registered Nurse working for the Abilene State School for 10 years. Wanda Jean was a member of the Clyde Church of Christ. She loved her grandkids and they loved their “Grandma Holcomb.” She enjoyed making porcelain dolls and loved her registered limousine cattle which she knew by name.

Wanda Jean is survived by her husband Kenneth of Clyde; three daughters, Marsha Jean Lewis and husband Roger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Debora Ruth Marek and husband Johnny of Abilene, Karon Sue Pass of Ft. Worth; one brother, Word Estes and wife Juanita of Clyde; grandchildren, Jackie Johnson and husband Jeremy, Jennifer Taylor, Tammy Spicer, Tiffany Hicks and Aimee Pass; great grandchildren, Landry Isabella (Bella) Cope, Kingston Horner, Charlee Horner, Brianna, Madison and Parker Johnson and Derrick Spicer; two sister-in-laws, June Estes and Gayle Maner both of Abilene and several nieces and nephews including Jana Staples and Stephen Lee Brand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dr. John L. Estes, Billy Sol Estes and Bobby Frank Estes; one sister, Joan Lastovica; one son, Kenneth Wayne Holcomb, Jr.; one granddaughter, Jamie Marek Horner and one sister-in-law, Earlene Holcomb Brand.
