Edward Burris, 76, a retired farmer of Christiana, died last night at his home after a long illness. He was a brother of the late Walter S. Burris, former county treasurer.
Mr. Burris was a member of the Christiana Fire Company and of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Burris; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Currinder of Christiana, and Mrs. Florence Beste of Wilmington; three sons, Walter and Howard of Christiana, and John who lives near that town; tow brothers, J. Marshall Burris of New Castle and James Burris of Wilmington, and one grandchild.
The funeral will take place from the home Thursday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in Glebe Cemetery. Friends may call at the home tomorrow night.
