Vernon H. Shelton, age 64, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of Hildon Shelton and the late Stella Betty Shelton. Mr. Shelton retired from Hoover Ball and served as a minister for many years. He was a member of Sweetwater Church of God in Flag Pond and enjoyed reading his Bible. In addition to his mother, Vernon is preceded in death by granddaughter: Cheyanne Holder.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Vernon Shelton in a funeral service to be held at 7 PM, Monday, October 26, 2015, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5 PM and continue until service time on Monday at Valley Funeral Home.

A committal service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Shelton Family Cemetery, Flag Pond, TN. Those who wish to attend will meet at 10:15 AM, Tuesday, at Valley Funeral Home to go procession.
