Laura B. Bradford went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, October 23, 2015, at the age of 97. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 26, 2015 in Lunn's Colonial Chapel with Dr. Roy T. Edgemon officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bradford, a native of Sulphur Springs, Texas, was born on May 2, 1918. She married William Weekley Bradford in 1938, and they moved to Wichita Falls in 1940.
Mrs. Bradford had been a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls and served in many aspects. She was church secretary for a number of years, Director of the Training Union and the Interim Director of Education. Mrs. Bradford worked for Dual Drilling Company for 22 years until she retired in 1981.
Laura was preceded in death in 1998 by her husband, Weekley and a son, Donald, in 1995. She leaves behind a daughter, Linda S. Shea, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Kim Hackney and Shannon Kiernan, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Becky Bradford of Fort Worth, Texas, and Bucky Don Bradford of Edmond, Oklahoma. She has 4 great-grandchildren, Troy Bradford of Fort Worth, Texas, Benjamin Hackney, Liam Kiernan, and Sophie Kiernan, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Laura is also survived by her niece, Anna Marie Edgemon and her husband, Dr. Roy T. Edgemon of Sulphur Springs, Texas.
