Juanita Foreman Jordan, age 73, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home with Revs. Charlie Whitney and Ben Yarber officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Fred L. and Myrtle Drewery Foreman, Mrs. Jordan was born on Tuesday, December 30, 1941 in Columbus. She graduated from S.D. Lee High School in 1958 and retired from the United States Postal Service as Postmaster of the Post Office in Caledonia, MS. She was a former employee of the Columbus Police Department, working initially as a Meter Maid and then in the Records Division. She attended Grace Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a big fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Denver Bronco football teams.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband of 56 years James R. “Jimmy” Jordan and her son Jim Jordan Jr. , both of Columbus and her daughters Gail Kemp ( John) of Columbus and Lisa Swims ( Michael) of Millbrook, AL; her sister Bessie Butler ( Jerry) of Columbus and her brother Lamar Foreman ( Louise) of Gainesville, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren Ashley Glasgow (Scott), John Eric Kemp (Carley), Trey Jordan, Gage Jordan, Megan Hoglund(Marshall), Haley Swims and Emily Gail Swims and four great grandchildren Katie and Tristan Hoglund, and Brady and John Thomas Glasgow and four nieces and one nephew and special friend Elaine Simon.

The pallbearers will be Chad Weldon, Bobby La Farge, Marshall Hoglund, John Eric Kemp, Charlie Watkins and Grady Jaynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Brenda Waldrop, Lisa Dooley, Dr. Michael Duckworth and staff, retired postal employees, the staff of Memorial and Gunter & Peel Funeral Homes, Gary Miller, and Rev. Danny Avery.
