Dorothy Franklin of Buckingham passed into Heaven on August 9, 2021. She was 97 years old. She was born at home in Lambertville NJ to late Lillian and Oraey Smith. She was the wife of the late John James Mcilmoyle and then to the late Robert G. Franklin.

In her young years, she would say how she and her sister would walk across the frozen Delaware River to go to work at the Bag Factory in New Hope, Pa. Later in life, she worked as a head cook in the cafeteria at Buckingham Elementary School and later in Holicong Elementary cafeteria before retiring. She was a life-time member the of Midway Fire Company auxiliary, working many summer nights in the kitchen at their carnival

In her leisure time, she and "RG" would attend enjoy attending firehouse breakfasts. She enjoyed making ceramics, many still in her home. She also enjoyed doing embroidery and cooking and also reading Danielle Steele novels and looking for new recipes in the many cook books she had.

She is survived by her son Tom Mcilmoyle and daughter-in law Grace of Line Lexington, Pa and grandchildren, Jim McIlmoyle of Doylestown, Sean McIlmoyle of Anacortes, Wa and Tiffani Hargrave of Warsaw, NY. Also, survived by four great-grandchildren, Braydon and Connor Mcilmoyle and Jameson and Piper Hargrave and nieces, Carole Thompson, Jeanne Good and Kim Horvath, nephew, Ed VanDoren and their many children. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John James McIlmoyle and Robert G Franklin and her son John James (Jack) McIlmoyle, Jr. and her sister, Virginia VanDoren.
She will be greatly missed by all of her family.

Family and friends are invited to Dorothy's Life Celebration, Monday, August 16th, from 10-11am, at Leaver/Cable of Buckingham, 4886 York Rd., and to participate in her Funeral Service at 11am. Interment will follow in Mechanicsville Cemetery.
