DEATH’S HARVEST – William Brown, living near Glenn’s Valley, died on Saturday of typhoid fever. The funeral services occurred at Salem church on Sunday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. VanCleve.

WILLIAM G BROWN 1867-1893

William G Brown, known as Will, was the last child born to Irbin Henry and Mary Elizabeth ORMSLEY Brown on the 26th of January 1867 in Johnson County, Indiana. Will was one of Eleven children born to the couple.

On May 26, 1844 IRBIN Henry Brown 1822-1886 married ELIZABETH ORMSLEY or ORMSBY 1822-1879 at Preble, Adams County, Indiana. They were the parents of 11 children:

1- Silas Salass Brown
2 - Mary C. Brown born about 1846
3 - Wiliam H. Brown 1847-1860
4 - Sarah "Sallie" Ellen Brown 1853-1930
5 - Lucinda J. Brown 1849-1860
6 - Winfield Scott Brown 1854-1932
7 - Sadie Fremeaness Brown 1854-
8 - Otto "Ott" DeWilbur Brown 1856-1881
9 - Josephine Brown 1859-1860
10- Oliver Perry Morton Brown 1862-1931
11- WILLIAM G. "WILL" BROWN 1867-1893

William G. Brown was listed as living with his family in the 1870 and 1880 United States Census for the State of Indiana.

At this time, I do not know the cause of death for "Will" Brown who was only 26 years old when he died. I am still searching for his cause of death.

The funeral of William Brown took place at Salem M. E. church Sunday, Rev. Vancleve preached the sermon. The deceased was the youngest child of the Irben [sic Irbin] Brown family, a family of eleven children. But three survive.

The wreath of white chrysanthemums that decorated the coffin of W. Brown was a most lovely one, and reflected great credit on the persons who pre­pared it.
