Mr. Barrett was born Jan. 14, 1896, in Youngstown, a son of Patsy and Lucy Adovasio Barrett. He financed his own education at Youngstown Technical College and became a noted builder in the area, helping in the building of St. Patrick Church and many of the local schools and municipal buildings. He was also instrumental in the development of the South Cadillac area. He was a World War I Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 15.
Besides his wife, the former Phyllis Marie Balletta, whom he married Nov. 5, 1925, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor A. Fountos of Boardman, clerk in the Boardman county court; Mrs. Dolly Brown of Canfield, and Mrs. Alice D'Orazio of Boardman and eight grandchildren.
