GATE CITY, Va. Kyle Burgess Jackson, 87, Gate City, Va., went to be with the Lord with his wife by his side, Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Jackson was born in Russell County, Va., on November 9, 1927, to the late Jerry Walker and Mary Jane Jackson In addition to his parents, his sisters, Bertha Stinson, Mildred Hubbard, Peggy Jean Jackson; and his brothers Claude Jackson, Robert M. "Bob" Jackson preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Peggy Jackson, Gate City, Va.; daughters, Mary Lynn Wagner and husband, Wesley, Kingsport, Tenn., Pam Mathes, Kingsport, Tenn., and Ann Long and husband, Jim, Gate City, Va.; sister, Velma Morrison, Lebanon, Va.; sister-in-law, Jean Jackson, Belfast, Va.; brothers, Roy E. Jackson, Charoleton, S.C., Harold "Jr" Jackson, Lebanon, Va.; grandchildren, James McCready, Kingsport, Tenn., Steven Wagner, Kingsport, Tenn., and Dalton Mathes, Kingsport, Tenn.; step grand daughter, Sarah Greene, Special Friend, and Joann Mathes; special niece, Tammy Manning, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Reverend Joe Roberts officiating. Music will be provided by, Ronnie Tipton and Lisa McMurray. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015, at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va. Bruce Eckerd, Lloyd Porter, Jim Long, David Clifton, Don Gillenwater, Roger Frazier, Paul George, Brandon Mathes will serve as pallbearers; Henry McGee, Gordon Jennings, Jim McConnell, and William Franklin will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015, to go in procession to the graveside.
