The son of William and Jane (Terlouw) Rozendaal, he was born Nov. 2, 1905, in rural Sully. He received his education in the public schools of Jasper County. On Feb. 16, 1932, he married Jerena Willemsen in Sully. He was a farmer and worked for Fred Schmidt Lumber after retiring from the farm in 1966.
Mr. Rozendaal enjoyed reading and working in his shop. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sully and lived in the Lynnville-Sully area until February 2000, when he became a resident of the Pella Regional Health Center Long Term Care Unit of Pella.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Robert L. and Helen Rozendaal of Sully, James W. and Beverly Rozendaal of Chico, Calif., Joan A. Rozendaal of Cedar Falls and Shirley K. and David Schippers of rural Lynnville; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ted T. Rozendaal of Grinnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; eight brothers, Peter, Henry, Anthony, Herman, Fred, Walter, Albert and Adrian; and two sisters, Maggie Van Genderen and Pearl Reynen.
