CARRICO - Clara Lucille, 96, of Louisville, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Nazareth Home. Born in Louisville, the former Clara Schnurr was a music teacher and organist for several locations in the city, including the parishes of St. Boniface, St. Barnabas, St. Pius, St. Elizabeth and Ascension. She was a founding member of both the Knitter's Club and the Belles Club and belonged to the Secular Franciscan Order and St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jay" Carrico; sisters, Mary Lou and Alma Theresa; and brothers, Norb, Urb, Steve, Rich and Junie. Clara is survived by her daughter, Susan Sither; son, Jimmy Carrico; grandchildren, Steven (Erin), Stephanie, Alex, Jacob, Luke, Emily (Zeke) and Rachel (Bobby); and great-grandson, Caden. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 at St. Pius, 3521 Goldsmith Lane, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Nativity Academy at St. Boniface, 529 E. Liberty St., 40202; or donor's charity of choice in memory of Clara.
