Peter Bland was known as Bland and was the son of Rev. Dr. Hiram Chamberlain. Bland was also the half-brother of Henrietta Chamberlain King of King Ranch.

Bland was married to Felipa Amaya and they had two daughters Carolina and Alicia. Carolina married George Durham Sr., a King ranch foreman and former Texas Ranger. George and Carolina Chamberlain Durham had 10 children:
