Cherry Geniece Owens a ninety-four year old Miami resident passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center. Mrs. Owens was born on April 23, 1921 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to William "Bill" and Lillie Mae (Roudy) Screws. Cherry worked for many years at First National Bank in Miami and considered them as her extended family. She was also longtime member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting and working with her flowers, she mostly enjoyed her family. Cherry was in the process of trying to write a book about Pretty Boy Floyd whom she attended his funeral and loved to tell the stories. She was preceded in passing by her parents Bill and Mae, her husband Olin Owens, her sons Paul Owens and Robert Owens, her daughter Lahoma Owens and Bill Owens, her grandsons Blake Owens, Patrick Miller and Casey Owens, her brother Jack Screws, and her sisters Della Devorack, Marie Lawson, Bonnie Fudge and Minnie Presley.

She is survived by five sons, two daughters, four daughters-in-law, one son-in-law,
fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and one special friend.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Miami. Interment will follow at Glen-Abbey Memorial Gardens in Miami under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
