George was the son of Judge William Burton Preston Harrison and Margaret Morrison/Morton Harrison.

George was Baptized 9th June 1841 his Godfather was E.C. Sloan, Godmother Mary L. Sloan.

He was married to Elizabeth (Lizzie) Catherine Bower, in Paris, Monroe County, Missouri on August 24, 1865.

He was a Lawyer by trade.

According to a 1880 Census they had three daughters Mattie T., Stella B.,and Ellie.
