Kenneth McLaughlin, 87, of Brevard, NC and formerly of Gracey, KY died at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at The Oaks of Brevard in Brevard, NC.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with the Rev. Gene Johnson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from noon until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Pocahontas, VA he was born December 26, 1927 the son of the late Austin Royce McLaughlin and Grace Hawley McLaughlin. He was a retired First Sgt. with the United States Army where he was a paratrooper and a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He was a Korean Way veteran. He was a member of Grace Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Fay Outlaw McLaughlin, who died in 2013.

Survivors include his daughter: Trula Branon (Dan) of Brevard, NC; his step daughter: Terra Liberty of Gracey, KY; two grandchildren: Chaisse Cummings and Michael Croft; and two great grandchildren: Dakota Cummings and Bailey Cummings.
