Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, October 24, at the Lane Family Funeral Home Canfield Chapel, for Ronald Lee Schisler, 82 of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Canfield.
Ronald passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at his residence. He was born on November 6, 1932 in Berlin Center, Ohio the son of the late Clarence Emory and Wahneta Elizabeth (Allen) Schisler.
Ron was a 1949 graduate of Berlin High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He received his bachelor's degree from Kent State University and his master's degree from Youngstown College. Ron was a teacher and spent most of his career teaching at Austintown Fitch High School. He was also the owner of HBS Stables, named in honor wife. He enjoyed horses, harness racing, singing, playing cards and being with family. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his nephew Kurt (Sandy) and their children, Jordan, Steven, and Hunter Schisler of Mt. Vernon, OH, niece Bonnie Fields (Sheila Burton) of Honolulu, HI, niece Wendy Gabes and her daughter Grace of St. Marys, OH, nephew Erik Schisler (Brooke Frusher) of Columbus, OH, nephew John (Sue) Berry and niece Kay (Bob) Sternagle all of Berlin Center, OH and sister-in-law Janet Schisler of Mt. Vernon, OH.
Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife Helen K Berry Schisler and siblings Charlene Allen Fields and Larry Allen Schisler and brother-in-law Lynn Fields.
