Age 95 of Black Earth, WI, died on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo with her family at her side. She was born on September 10, 1920 in LaValle, WI to Sydney and M. Ethel (Lowry) Kuykendall. She graduated from Middleton High School in 1938. On June 30, 1940, she married Marvin J. Johnson. Marvin preceded her in death on May 8, 1979.
In addition to raising her children, Helen worked as a legal secretary for Winch Law Office in Mazomanie for 22 years. She continued running her own private tax business well into her 80s.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Jan; a grandson, Shane Johnson in 2014; her brothers: Archie (Ruth), Sidney (Delores), Clem (Jeanne), and Richard Kuykendall; a sister-in-law Pauline Kuykendall; a brother-in-law Shepard Blumenthal; and her very special Johnson in-laws: Earl (Margaret) Johnson, Irene (Sy) Fjelstad, James (Florence) Johnson, Hazel (Ralph) Barsness, Aldro (Ruby) Johnson, Alvin (Alvilda), Johnson, Milford (Oliva) Johnson, Russell (Carol Jene) Johnson.
