On August 6, 1960, he was united in marriage to Drusilla Fowler, and they shared the next 53 years.

Humphrey, Wichita, KS; Nicole Cotner, and Mauli Gray, Salem; Brittany Gray, Rolla; and two great grandchildren; Kolin Humphrey, PA and Aiden Gray, Salem.

Edgar is also survived by his mother, Eula Gray, Salem; two brothers: Larry Gray, Salem, and Gary Gray and wife Pamela, St. James; two sisters: Deloris Gray Wood, Salem and Linda Smith and husband John, Jefferson City.

Edgar is survived by five aunts: Norma Warden and Cledith Warden, Salem; Marie Urban, Montauk; Fern Chamberlin, Licking and Betty Wofford, St. Charles; and on sister-in-law Nancy Miller and husband, David; Springfield and one former son-in-law, Jerry Humphrey, Iowa, and one former daughter-in-law, Jennifer McWilliams, Rolla.

Edgar grew up on a family farm in the Upper Parker Community and graduated from Upper Parker Grade School, #68, in 1955 and Salem High School in 1959. He was saved and became a Christian at the Upper Parker Community Church when he was 13.

After graduation he moved to St. Louis and stared working for McDonald Douglas. He was an over-the-road independent trucker for several years. Then he joined the union in 1970 and worked for Union Local 513 as a heavy equipment operator.

After he was diagnosed with Cancer and had recovered from surgery about five years ago, he and his friends, the Grayson’s all took a 4,000 mile trip on their Harley-Davidsons’ to see the West. He was always pushing the limit on everything he did in life and he did on his trip out-West-pushing his limit and he survived.

He would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He would give his food away before he would eat. He always looked out for his friends before himself.

Edgar was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, and was caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
