Groton - Services for Ramona Freeman, 76, of Groton will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Groton. Rev. Bill Duncan will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and will continue Saturday at the church.
She passed away Aug. 17, 2006, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Ramona Peterson was born on Feb. 25, 1930, to Carl and Marjorie (Rosholt) Peterson in Claremont, S.D. She attended school in Claremont and Herman, Minnesota.
On Aug. 26, 1946, she united in marriage with Francis Freeman. The couple made their home in Groton while Ramona worked in Housekeeping at the Hospital in Aberdeen. After Francis passed away in 1990, Ramona moved to Black Hawk to be near her son. She later returned to Groton and became a resident of Beverly Healthcare.
Grateful for having shared her life is her son, Mark and his wife, Venus of Black Hawk, her sister; Dawn Perkins and her husband, Mark of Claremont, nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two sons, Mike & Dan and her daughter, Judy.
Casketbearers will be Scott Freeman, Ryan Freeman, Brett Freeman, Jason Schutz, Kent Perkins and Russell Davidson.
