Visitation for Ernest Joseph Franklin of Graham will be from 9 am to noon Friday at Westford Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 1 pm Friday at Greenacres Memorial Park. Mr. Franklin died at home Saturday, March 22, 1997. He was 84.

Born Jan 30, 1913 to Perry and Anna Sinkler Franklin in New Rockford, ND, he married Sylva Jones on July 7, 1950 in Seattle.

Mr. Franklin worked as a powder man in mines in Alaska, Montana and Bellingham, WA. He also worked on construction of Hoover Dam and for Snelson and Wilder construction companies in Whatcom County.

He enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his wife in 1988 and sister Rose Watlow earlier this year.

Survivors include his daughter Ginger Beasley of Graham; stepson Raymond Klander of Bellingham; brother Edwin Franklin of Florence, Ore; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
