Orlando is the son of Dr. Jacob Evert Vosburgh and Lucinda Ellen Hull. He was buried on the 17th Day of April 1905. He married Ameilia "Millie" D. Lawrence on 6 Mar 1861, in Morris, New York. They had four children:

William Lawrence Vosburgh (1861-1910)
Jennie May Vosburgh (1863-1899)
Albert Roswell Vosburgh (1866-1945)
Francis Eugene Vosburgh (1869-1949)

Orlando enlisted in the military on 4 Sept 1864 in Captain Albern Barber's "G" Company, 185 Regiment in Cinncinnatus, New York. The regiment served from Petersburg, Virginia to Appomattox, Virginia headquarters.
