Jack C Abshire (90) died peacefully on October 14, 2015 in Milwaukee, WI.

He was born on September 18, 1925, in Mishawaka, IN, served in the US Navy, and attended the University of Iowa.

He married Lucille (Schilling) in 1949 in Cedar Rapids, IA, and moved to Chicago to work for Commonwealth Edison.

Jack and Lu were charter members of Skokie Valley Baptist Church in Wilmette, IL, and served faithfully until retiring in 1986 to Door County, WI, and Sun City West, AZ.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; two sons: Tom (Diane) and Greg (Pam); 5 grandchildren: Jonathan (Jennifer), Erin (Ben) Wills, Matthew (Drea), Cecelia, and Ann; and 4 great-grandchildren: Jack and Isla Abshire, Beatrix and Asa Wills.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 24 at 2 pm in the Chapel at Luther Manor, Wauwatosa, WI with a service to follow at 3 pm.

Burial will be on October 25 at 1 pm in Little Sister Cemetery, Sister Bay, WI. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation (alzfdn.org).
