Greenview, Ill., Feb 7 - This morning at 10 o'clock occurred the funeral of Mrs. Melissa Woodruff, who died at there home in Greenview on Wednesday, Feb 6, the Rev G W Williams officiating in an impressive service at the home. Deceased was born near Salisbury, Ill and lived 81 years 5 months and 4 days. She was married to Samual Woodruff and they spent their lives on a farm near Athens until five years ago when they moved to Greenview. To this union were born eight children, of whom seven survive, namely Mrs Mary Scantling and Mrs Amanda Phlegar of Springfield, Mrs Wilson of Lincoln, Mrs Steve Knoles of Rock Creek and Mrs William McDougall and William and Harvey of Greenview. Her husband died on Feb 15of the last year. The interment was made at Indian Point Cemetery.
In regards to Melissa Woodruff, I know its misspelled by today's standards and I will be going out to the cemetery to look to see if there is a marker but on her husband
headstone her name is spelled Malisa and on their daughter Emma's death cerficate it is spelled Malissa and here on the roots web indian point cemetery site
