Born July 26, 1911 in Salt Lake City to Otis Alanzo and Cena Beasley Burton. Married Mable Eva Woods Aug 5, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He started working for Continental Bank when he was 16 years old, retiring 49 years later. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, served in many callings including 32 years as clerk in the Sugar House Stake. His life was one of service and loyalty. He had a great love for music, the arts, and good movies and shared that love with his family and many friends. He played the violin and viola for the Salt Lake Symphony. He loved the mountains and climbed most of the local peaks, sharing his love for nature with his family and friends.
He was a devoted husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather and friend. He was always patient, forgiving, and non-judgmental. He had complete faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and in the Plan of Salvation, knowing that his family will be an eternal family.
Survived by: sons and a daughter, Clyde, Los Gatos, CA; Robert (Heather), Napa, CA; Keith (Patty), Sacramento, CA; and Kathleen (David) Poulson, Salt Lake; 22 grandchildren and 19 and a half great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brother, Clyde Otis; daughter, Sylvia Marie Kirkham; and wife.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday July 1, 2000 at Hawthorne Ward, 808 E. Roosevelt Avenue. Friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple and at the ward one hour prior to services. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park.
