Graveside services for Mr. David Daniel, Jr., age 81, of Burleson and formerly Buffalo, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, Texas. There will be no public visitation. David Daniel, Jr. was born on September 4, 1934 in Fairfield, Texas to Samuel & Laura (Ivy) Daniel. Mr. Daniel joined the U.S. Navy at an early age and served his country for twenty years. He had many adventures during this time including having an island near Antarctica named after him. After his retirement from the Navy, Mr. Daniel completed school at the Culinary Institute of America. Mr. Daniel was a wonderful storyteller. He loved to tell his stories to anyone who would listen. He also enjoyed playing dominos. Most of all, Mr. Daniel adored his great grandchildren and spent as much time with them as he could. He passed away on October 19, 2015 in Burleson, Texas. Mr. David was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Janice H. Daniel; step-father, Leonard Denton; brothers, John Daniel & Jerry Denton and sister, Deliah McAdams. Surviving family members include sons, Mike (Rita) Daniel of Euless and Blake (Lisa) Daniel of Crowley; grandchildren, Keith & Kevin Daniel, Kayla Tyre, Kell (Leann) Daniel & Dustin Daniel and great grandchildren, Brylee & Finley Daniel & Austin Tyre. Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
